C-SPAN has you covered in the Video Library. Click the picture to watch.
I’m willing to bet more than a few of you buy songs off iTunes, Google Play or Amazon Music. And you use Netflix, Amazon Instant Video or DVR your favorite shows.
But how many of you have bought a program from C-SPAN? Did you know you could?
It’s very simple.
Go to the C-SPAN Video Library
Find the program you’re interested in. (Just use the Search box).
Okay! You’ve found your program - maybe, the filibuster by Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) from March.
Scroll down on the right to the “Purchase” box and select your format - MP3 is what I recommend.
Click add to cart and you’ll even get a test box!
Click Order Program, agree to the terms and licensing agreement and it’ll take you to a C-SPAN Store page. (Look, free shipping with the electronic download!)
Let’s proceed to checkout and you’ll either have to make an account, or just log-in as a returning customer!
It’ll ask for shipping and payment information…and voila, you’re off to the races!
And just think of all you can download. Not everything’s available but Space Ghost is, and so is Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor Rally” from August 2010. Remember when Stephen Colbert went in front of Congress? That’s here too.
Look up your U.S. Representative or listen to artist and musician James Taylor at the National Press Club.
And if you don’t love politics, there’s decades of books, history, and our new series on First Ladies like Dolley Madison.
The possibilities are endless, and we’re adding new programs and interviews every day.
Check it out, share with your friends, and keep watching.
In 1984, C-SPAN produced some very different and colorful programming from Louisiana. This included interviews with chefs, a visit to an alligator farm, sights-and-sounds like the automatic human jukebox, and so much more. (Bonus: Coors plant)
I’ll post a few links. All of this can be found in the C-SPAN Video Library at http://c-spanvideo.org/

Back in 1995, C-SPAN interviewed “Space Ghost” at the National Cable Television Association Annual Show.
It’s 2 minutes. Watch it for a weekend break.
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus spoke about the new “Growth and Opportunity Project” report today at the National Press Club.
C-SPAN Link: http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/311565-1
The report is 80+ pages long, and there are a few select tidbits I noticed when reading through it.
1. The “Growth and Opportunity Project” report calls for increased contribution limits for Federal Campaigns
2. The RNC should develop contests between state parties related to their fundraising efforts to promote smart investments and practices. The winner of these contests should be rewarded with the RNC’s investing in the state party’s fundraising efforts by funding creative tests or by sending a SWAT team of experts to come to the state to evaluate operations and help advise a plan to improve.
3. In leading campaign finance reform, report cites organizations such “#RNC, #RSLC and #ALEC”
4. “Republicans and Democrats should seek an additional $32,400 allowance for building fund contributions.”
5. Report cites “Romney campaign’s administration shop as a model” when discussing fundraising training.
6. “State chairmen should headline no fewer than 20 local fundraisers each year for the state party.”
7. “Define the D’s Early and Track ‘Em” and “Groupthink is a Loser”
8. “The Obama media research and buying staff was 5 to 15 times larger than the Romney staff.”
9. “RNC should strongly encourage that all GOP surveys include no less than 25% of cellphone subsamples..not including autodialers.”
10. “Establish a fellows program to recruit data, digital, and tech ‘fellows’ from college campuses.”
11. “Establish an RNC Celebrity Task Force in the entertainment industry.”
12. “GOP leaders should participate and prepare for interviews with @TheDailyShow, @ColbertReport, @MTV, @peoplemag, @usweekly”
13. “Republican candidates should advertise in college newspapers.”
14. “Republican party committees need to understand that women need to be asked to run.”
15. “There are plenty of liberal policies that negatively impact women, incumbent upon the party to expose and attack them.”
16. “Establish swearing-in citizenship teams to introduce new citizens after naturalization ceremonies to GOP party.”
17. “The #RNC must rebuild a nationwide database of Hispanic leaders.”
18. In pushing for an earlier convention, @GOP Report cites Olypmics being held in August 2016.
19. “The cost of putting on a broadcast-quality debate…range from $500,000 to $1 million per debate.”
20. “In 2012, the Romney operation handled treasury, budgeting, and compliance…over $1 billion in all…with only nine individuals.”
21. “Direct mail was the 2nd largest fundraising channel and raised twice as much as the web.” for GOP in 2012 pres. campaign
22. “$182 million was raised online through Romney Victory.”
23. The report cites Peggy Noonan.
24. “Don’t try to get African Americans to become Republicans, but persuade them to vote independently…”
25. “Lone wolf groups are more likely to waste their donors’ money and act in a redundant, unhelpful manner.”
